Candidates

The 2017 Tabor Czech Days Queen will be the official candidate selected to represent South Dakota at the national Miss Czech-Slovak US Queen pageant in Wilber, Nebraska in August 2018.   Three area young women are taking the first step in qualifying to run for the national title.  The 2016 Tabor Czech Days Queen, Morgan Rothschadl of Tabor, will be the South Dakota representative this year for the pageant in August.

Tabor Czech Days queen candidates for 2017 are Cheree Becvar, Jennifer Schmidt, and Elyssa Walloch.  The girls are busy designing their own individual kroj, Czech folk costume; practicing their talent; preparing themselves for both public and personal interviews; and becoming more comfortable in meeting the public and becoming local ambassadors and promoting their Czech heritage.  The girls are also selling Count Down to Czech Days calendars.

The South Dakota representative will be competing against young ladies from all over the United States.  Running for Tabor Czech Days Queen prepares the girls for competition at the national level in all of the categories as the Miss Czech-Slovak US Queen pageant in Wilber, Nebraska.

Ms. Erin Tycz Sedlacek, in 2004, has been the only South Dakota representative to have been crowned Miss Czech-Slovak US Queen.
